I incessantly enjoy making; I find there is no other path in which I would, willingly and passionately, work all day and night. After the many inspirations, initial panic, the combination of revelation and failure, it is exciting to physically create an idea that was once only an image in my brain. My art teaches me and gives me awareness of my own thoughts and feelings, revealing opinions I subconsciously have. As I make, I begin with the visual, becoming conscious through doing, of what I am trying to say. My favourite path is to take something that is familiar and represent it in an ironic way, drawing people in as they detect the recognizable, leaving them intrigued by my pieces’ unexpected connections.
